#remember how this movie took female stereotypes and crushed them into a million pieces

casual reminder that Elle Woods scored a 179 on the LSAT, which is one point shy of a perfect score.

Casual reminder that Whatshisface here had family connections and was a legacy and shit, whereas Elle Woods came out of nowhere.

casual reminder that Elle Woods actually had an amazing background in real life issues that people dismissed as unimportant but managed to not only learn the law, but learned how to apply the law.

Casual reminder that Elle Woods used her lawyer skills to save a woman from an abusive relationship and also save another woman from trumped up murder charges and basically what I’m saying is you go, girl, go get ‘em Elle Woods, thank you for this movie.

what’s fantastic about this movie is that it’s not that fucked up brand of feminism where the girls who arent like other girls and sip tea and read hemingway look down on the blonde party sluts. the message of the movie is like, you can be blonde and attractive AND enjoy stuff like shopping and partying and you can still be smart and kick ass!!!

i imagine severus snape going to the afterlife and seeing lily for the first time and he’s all happy but then lily starts repeatedly kicking snape in the shins and screeching “how dare you treat my son that way" and that’s basically their relationship for all eternity

Yes. please.

No, but how sweet is it that during Harry’s first week at Hogwarts Hagrid sent along a note with Hedwig to invite Harry to tea rather than asking him in person so Harry didn’t feel left out and actually got some mail

HAGRID IS SO UNDER APPRECIATED THIS REALLY BUGS ME

#there is something about season four kurt#that i find kind of mysterious and extremely compelling (via fierybeams)
literally the only good thing about s4 was watching kurt mature in NYC, his sweetness and introverted nature versus how demanding the big city can be… and how he handled a broken heart

i do feel like kurt’s introversion got foregrounded in a big way in season four. it was always part of him, but there did seem to be something about the break-up that intensified it. i always get a little bummed out when i remember that after the season four finale there were tons of people complaining that kurt had come across as “unreadable” or a “non-entity” the whole season, because yeah, he definitely got more quiet and introspective than we’d ever seen him, but there was something really magnetic about it.
i think season four marked something of a new beginning for the relationship between kurt and the audience. as he matured, he got a lot more internal. we have to work harder to figure him out now, which i think the fandom struggles with sometimes. he’s not as easily available to us any more, he’s a little steelier even though he still gives us and everyone around him so much with the smallest gestures.
man, i just really love kurt.

me too man
and it was just so interesting how he navigated things like NYADA and dating in the big city and stuff like that
i think kurt has always been internal but in like s1 he had to ‘scream to be noticed’ and be like, vicious to protect himself
and now that he isnt in that oppressive environment anymore we can finally see the REAL kurt, who is complex and quiet and deeply kind-hearted but with so so much internal strength
(also man dont even let me get into how s4 gave us a glimpse into kurt’s mental state with his obsessive behaviors and such god it’s so interesting to me and also so relate-able)

Reblogging for lovely photo and lovelier commentary.
